Paubox Awards 2025 Kahikina Scholarships to Native Hawaiian Students Pursuing STEM Degrees

The 2025 class of Paubox Kahikina Scholarship recipients was announced today. The scholarship’s mission is to encourage Native Hawaiians to pursue careers in STEM or technology in general. The scholarship is recurring in nature. In other words, recipients receive $1,000 per year until they graduate.

Now in its seventh year, this year’s class of 17 recipients is the largest to date. Awardees graduated from high schools in Hawaiʻi, Nevada, and Texas.

This year’s recipients:

  • Austin Cataluna. Hawaii Technology Academy graduate, attending University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa
  • Aysha Berry. Kauaʻi High School graduate, attending college on the mainland
  • Brandon Diggs. Mililani High School, attending University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa
  • Caleb Takiguchi. Kamehameha Schools Kapālama graduate, attending Cornell University
  • Chancen Law. Kamehameha Schools Kapālama graduate, attending Harvard University
  • Grant Lau. Kamehameha Schools Kapālama graduate, attending Stanford University
  • Halia Sniffen. Kamehameha Schools Kapālama graduate, attending UCLA
  • Kalei Sproat. Grand Oaks High School graduate, attending Brigham Young University
  • Kayla-Marie Torres. Saint Francis High School graduate, attending University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa
  • Logan Lee. ʻIolani School graduate, attending Yale University
  • Maming Bacxa. Kealakehe High School graduate, attending Tulane University
  • Ryan Lagon. Kamehameha Schools Kapālama graduate, attending Massachusetts Institute of Technology
  • Stacy Cambra. Kamehameha Schools Kapālama graduate, attending UC Berkeley
  • Tatum Thompson. Bishop Gorman High School graduate, attending Rice University
  • Travis Kuo. Kamehameha Schools Kapālama graduate, attending Washington University in St. Louis
  • Trust Tinai. Nanakuli High and Intermediate graduate, attending Loyola Marymount University
  • Violet Mossman. Kamehameha Schools Maui graduate, attending college in California
