NextFolio Adds Ensemble Active Management Inventor Alexey Panchekha to Advance Innovation in Active Equity Investing

STAMFORD, CT / ACCESS Newswire / August 14, 2025 / NextFolio, the firm redefining active equity investing through its Ensemble Active™ approach, announced today that Alexey Panchekha, Ph.D, CFA®, inventor of Ensemble Active™ Management ("EAM"), has joined its Strategic Advisory Board.

Panchekha brings decades of experience applying advanced mathematical and machine learning techniques to portfolio construction, trading systems, and alpha generation. He is the original inventor of the EAM framework-a patented and scalable investment methodology that combines institutional intelligence with ensemble modeling to identify high-conviction opportunities and deliver differentiated active returns.

Previously, Panchekha served as Co-Founder and Chief Scientist at Turing Technology Associates, where he helped develop a breakthrough mutual fund replication engine. His career also includes senior roles at Fidelity Investments, Goldman Sachs, and Bloomberg. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Physics from Kharkiv Polytechnic University and is a CFA® charterholder.

"NextFolio is transforming the foundation of active management," said Panchekha. "By combining the informational edge of real-time institutional data with the predictive strength of ensemble methods, they are creating a more intelligent, adaptable, and scalable path to alpha. This is not just a product innovation-it's a new framework for how we think about stock selection itself."

Panchekha joins seasoned leaders already on the Advisory Board:

  • David M. Blitzer, Ph.D - Former Chairman of the S&P Dow Jones Index Committee and Chief Investment Officer of Standard & Poor's.

  • Brad Mook, CFA® - Former Director of Equity Manager Research at SEI Investments and current Managing Director at Rosemont Investment Group.

  • Scott E. Yonker, Ph.D, CFA® - Professor of Finance at Cornell University's SC Johnson College of Business and expert in institutional and behavioral finance.

The Advisory Board provides strategic guidance as NextFolio scales its Ensemble Active™ platform, which systematically identifies high-conviction positions across thousands of mutual funds and ETFs and constructs real-time portfolios using proprietary ensemble and machine learning techniques.

Stephen Beinhacker, CFA®, former Head of Manager Research at SEI, and William Wilson, fintech and asset management executive, joined the firm in late 2024 to accelerate product innovation and distribution.

"At NextFolio, we're bridging the gap between data science and practical portfolio construction," said Beinhacker, Chief Investment Officer. "Ensemble Active™ gives investors access to the collective intelligence of the industry's best managers-delivered with transparency, scalability, and precision that traditional models simply can't match."
