“Kate has been recognized throughout her career for both her strategic vision and skill as an operator," said Sarah Moore, CEO & President. "Kate comes to us with deep experience in strategic planning and technology, which will be invaluable as we pursue our mission to grow with the client as our focus.”

Doerksen has a track record as a founder of successful companies. During her undergraduate years, Doerksen launched Hoopla, an online marketplace for college basketball recruiting that matched coaches and high school student athletes. As a Division 1 women’s basketball standout, she won a host of awards and pursued a brief stint with the Connecticut Sun. After retiring from basketball, Doerksen served as an investment banking analyst at Citi and later, a private equity investor at Wind Point Partners, before returning to business school at Stanford where she earned her MBA.

During her time at Stanford, Doerksen cofounded Ditto, a global leader in virtual try-on and AI recommendation technology in the vision industry. Their technology allowed eyewear to be more easily sold online, enabling a drastic reduction in the price of eyeglasses for Ditto’s 70M users. Most recently, in 2023, Doerksen co-founded Sage Haven, with the mission of creating a world where kids have a healthier relationship to technology and each other. In Q2 2025, Sage Haven is launching their first technology solution, a safer messaging app for kids with AI-powered safety tools for parents.

Kate Doerksen joins the DCM board that is comprised of the following directors:

  • Mike Hull, Chairman of the Board
  • Sarah Moore, CEO & President

  • Steve Nichols
  • Sharon Reed-Walker
  • Rick Roop
