As this edition of Italian Cuisine Week in the World comes to a close, the Ecceamerica Program celebrates a season rich in flavor, culture, and meaningful connections. In the United States, this annual celebration has become a highly anticipated tradition — a moment when chefs, food lovers, and curious guests gather to honor the Mediterranean taste and lifestyle, recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage.

Riding this wave of enthusiasm, Ecceamerica — the European program dedicated to promoting extra virgin olive oil and European organic wines — has marked the beginning of a new cycle of promotional and educational activities across North America.
Launched on November 3rd, the Ecceamerica Project — co-financed by the European Union and promoted by Unaprol (Consorzio Olivicolo Italiano) and CAP (Confederação dos Agricultores de Portugal) pursuant to EU Reg. 1144/2014—returned to the spotlight in iconic locations across New York and New Jersey, two areas that symbolize the vibrant American lifestyle.
Over the course of 140 days of promotion, the project engaged 14 participating venues, transforming restaurants, bakeries, and pizzerias into ambassadors of European taste. Guests enjoyed tastings, special recipes, and informative activities designed to bring North American audiences closer to the culture of extra virgin olive oil and organic European wines.
This second edition also welcomed exciting new partners, joining the restaurants that had already embraced the project last year — a clear sign of the growing passion and demand for authenticity, excellence, and sustainable European agri-food products.

A Journey of Taste and Values
More than a culinary celebration, this project represents a journey through the values that define the Mediterranean Diet: balance, well-being, sustainability, and a deep respect for the land. These values continue to fascinate the North American public, who increasingly look to European products as a model of authenticity and quality.
As Nicola Di Noia, CEO of Unaprol and project coordinator, emphasizes:
"It is absolutely important to continue talking about these products at an international level to protect a historical and cultural heritage that has been famous throughout the world for over 2000 years."
Our Thanks
We express our deepest gratitude to all the restaurants, bakeries, and pizzerias that participated with such enthusiasm, professionalism, and creativity. Their commitment played an essential role in bringing this educational and cultural message to life.
A special thank-you goes to Ornella Fado, for curating the event with her signature authenticity, elegance, and dedication. Her ability to communicate the stories behind European excellence has elevated the project and strengthened its impact throughout North America.
Looking Ahead
The success of this second year confirms the strength of the Ecceamerica format and its mission: to build lasting bridges between European excellence and the curiosity of American consumers. Because when it comes to extra virgin olive oiland organic wine, the common language is — and will always remain — the language of good taste.
