Different people like different genres, so it’s virtually impossible to form a list of the best PC games that everybody would agree upon. However, there’s a long list of titles that stood out among other releases.
Immersion and action
Without any doubt, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is one of them. Some experts believed that Sandfall Interactive’s debut title would be exceptional, but the reality exceeded their expectations. The game became a phenomenon, receiving sky-high reviews and selling over 3 million copies within a month.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a role-playing game that immaculately combines the classic turn-based gameplay with QTE, making it more appealing to action game fans. It also mesmerized players with its memorable characters, intriguing story, and incredible score.
“It’s an ultimate game, where every element is top-notch. It’s all the more impressive, as it’s not an AAA release with a budget of a Hollywood blockbuster. The limited scale had its bright sides. For instance, the Clair Obscur is cheaper than the biggest titles, so more players decide to give it a chance. We observed it firsthand because prices on GAMIVO are significantly lower than the official ones. As a result, players willing to get Clair Obscur cheaply have stormed the platform since the game’s premiere, states Pawel Zemka from GAMIVO, a platform specialized in selling discounted video games.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Monster Hunter: Wilds, and Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter were other remarkable RPGs that came out in 2025. Action fans also haven’t had reasons to complain. Split Fiction turned out to be a worthy successor to It Takes Two, and Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds won players’ and critics’ hearts, proving that PC gamers shouldn’t regret that Mario Kart is a Nintendo exclusive.
“It’s been a great year for family-friendly games, but also players who prefer a more gory atmosphere were satisfied. They got pretty decent shooters, with Doom: The Dark Ages leading the pack, and great horrors, including Silent Hill f and Dying Light: The Beast, points out the GAMIVO representative. According to Pawel Zemka, the year 2025 is also exceptional for indie developers.
The best indie gems of the year
Indie titles constitute a big chunk of the highest-reviewed games released in 2025. The list remains impressive even without Clair Obscur, which was founded by its publisher, Kepler Interactive. First and foremost, there are sequels to two indie sensations. Hades II, a roguelike RPG, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, a Metroidvania, offered challenging gameplay of the highest quality.
“There are many less popular, yet equally entertaining indie games, including Despelote, Blue Prince, Dispatch, Absolum, Abiotic Factor, and Look Outside. We’re very happy that thanks to GAMIVO’s wide offer and low prices, we help gamers all over the world discover such gems of games,” said Pawel Zemka.

Happy returns: the best remakes and remasters of 2025
Many classic releases received new life in 2025. Some of them offered remarkable quality and deserve to be included among the best games of the year. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion improved one of the most beloved RPGs, while The Talos Principle: Reawakened allowed a new generation of players to discover the breathtaking puzzle game from Croteam. However, the most exciting remake of 2025 is arguably Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the overhauled version of the legendary Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The expectations were high, but the game didn’t disappoint, perfectly mixing the classic adventure with modern mechanics and graphics.
From consoles to PC: games worth waiting for
The original Metal Gear Solid 3 was available only on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo 3DS; hence, the remake was the first time PC players could experience this chapter in MGS history. It leads to another category of games that came out this year on personal computers: console exclusives. The prime example is The Last of Us Part II.
“It was definitely worth the wait. Fortunately, the PC premiere of The Last of Us Part II didn’t have the technical issues of its predecessor, so players could embark on the adventure with Ellie and other memorable characters without any problems spoiling the experience, underlines the GAMIVO representative.”
Moreover, the praised action-adventure game Stellar Blade and RPG Final Fantasy VII Rebirth premiered on PC in 2025. Both received positive reviews and were praised by players.
